With the ever growing popularity of personal music gadgets such as the
iPod
and various brands of
mp3 players
, owners are constantly on the lookout for music materials to feed into these players. Owners can basically go in either of two directions when downloading--the legal way or the illegal way. Owners of
iPod
players basically go to
iTunes
where they have over two millions songs that are searchable and available for purchase.
People that choose to take the illicit route in downloading music have to go to peer-to-peer (P2P) download networks to search for their desired songs. By doing so, they risk being caught by the minions of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and facing a minimum fine of around US$3,000.00. But for those who choose the P2P route, the RIAA and the minimum fine might be the least of their worries because there is a much bigger danger that lurks within these networks.
