Without a doubt the things Imus said were despicable and insensitive, but they still pale in comparison with many of the things that Howard Stern regularly says on the air. There are quite a few on-air personalities who believe that being behind the microphone bestows upon them some god-like omnipotence and that they can say and do whatever they want. The thing about this Imus affair that disappointed me the most is the fact that he's been broadcasting for thirty-something years now, so he should've known better.
